Refund policy

1. Overview

At Italy Car Parts, we are committed to ensuring your satisfaction with every purchase. This policy applies to all customers, with additional rights granted to EU/EEA residents under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).

2. EU Statutory Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

If you are based in the EU/EEA, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order — no reason required.

Withdrawal period starts: the day you (or a nominated third party) physically receive the goods.

To exercise this right, notify us before the 14-day period expires:

You may use the model withdrawal form provided in Section 8, though it is not mandatory.

3. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

The 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to:

  • Items that have been installed, used, or fitted to a vehicle
  • Custom-made or special-order parts produced to your specifications
  • Items where the seal has been broken for hygiene or safety reasons
  • Parts that have been mixed inseparably with other goods after delivery

Note: Automotive parts are functional components. Once installed or used, they cannot be resold as new. Please verify compatibility before installation.

4. Return Conditions

To be eligible for a return, items must be:

  • Unused and uninstalled
  • In original packaging with all included accessories
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase (order number or receipt)
  • Returned within 14 days of notifying us of your withdrawal

We reserve the right to refuse returns or apply a deduction if items show signs of use, damage, or missing components.

5. Return Shipping

  • EU customers: Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the item is defective or incorrectly sent.
  • We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping service — we cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.
  • For defective or incorrect items, we will provide a prepaid return label.

6. Refunds

Once we receive and inspect the returned item:

  • Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving the return
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method
  • We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods or proof of return shipment

Shipping costs paid at checkout are refunded only if the entire order is returned.

7. Defective or Incorrect Items

If you receive a defective, damaged, or incorrect item, please contact us within 30 days of delivery:

  • Include your order number, a description of the issue, and photos if possible

We will offer one of the following resolutions:

  • Replacement part (subject to availability)
  • Full refund including return shipping

EU customers are also entitled to a 2-year statutory guarantee under EU law (Directive 2019/771).

9. How to Start a Return

  1. Email returns@italycar.jp with your order number and reason for return
  2. We will confirm eligibility and provide return instructions within 2 business days
  3. Ship the item back using a tracked service
  4. Refund is processed within 14 days of receiving the return
